The town of San Marcos holds an art market called Art Squared Arts Market every second Saturday of the month from March to December. I volunteer every month since I found out about it after the Labor Day floods. It supports local artists and brings culture to the community. It’s in the town square around the gorgeous court house.
Each month has different artists, some are regulars, some are passing through town, some are new trying out the market for the first time. The farmer’s market is next door with food and flowers. There’s always live music, dogs are welcome, and everyone has tons of fun!
I man the information booth with July, the coordinator. Contact her for more information or through the website.
Lacy Dalton Weyler makes gorgeous silver jewelry. My favorites are the labradorite pieces.
Man Made Design by Chris Zurovec. He’s helping a little boy make a piece!
Kelsey Huckaby’s art. Rainbow sloth is my spirit animal.
AMAZING mosaic skull by Silvermoon Mosaics.
Father and son painters!
Hard at work even during the market! Many artists are working on pieces while selling their stuff. There’s a huge variety of work.
Talked to the artist, he only uses made in America supplies!
Here’s more information about what he supports.
This couple always has fresh flowers they picked from their garden in their adorable handmade, hand-painted clay ware.
The business cards are works of art too!
Live music starts at 1pm!
Some artists will design work for you. The woman, July, is talking to this artist about designing a piece for her.
The setups are almost as impressive as the work. Almost!
The work varies quite a bit. There’s clothing, jewelry, paintings, drawings, sculpture, furniture, and more.
Dan’s bird feeders were a hit. I should’ve bought one!!
